RAW vs JPEG: Why you should change the settings in your DSLR

Ever wanted to know why you should shoot in RAW vs jpeg? Many people know they should, but rarely understand the actual difference under the hood. I’ve put together a (free!) video that walks through understanding what the differences are, visually demonstrates the difference with an experiment you can try too (starting about 10:20 in), demonstrates the difference using an image from a camera (about 17:20) and also shows how you can properly set up the link between Adobe Camera Raw and Photoshop to take advantage of those wonderful extra bits.

Enjoy!
